Cineaste and producer Chinaski uses warm synth lines and nocturnal drums to create dark house music. Being a VHS junkie he creates music for theater and film and also designs his own visuals. For TISSUE, we are happy and proud he provided a no less hypnotic soundtrack for the night.

Tim Bruening remembers his uncle, the artist Frank Pabst. Only hours after Pabst’s death, Bruening visited his uncle’s apartment and photographed his belongings. For his art, Pabst used different materials to deal with motives that draw from various sources such as music culture or shamanism. Quite obsessively, he had arranged his works in some sort of ongoing installation. Through the combination of drawings, found objects and sculptural works, reoccurring themes center around death and symbolic circles in a very unique icogonography that is strongly linked to Pabst’s personal life. Beyond his own intimate view on his uncle, Bruening’s photos reveal the underlying aesthetics of Pabst’s unique work. At first, a photo of a dead butterfly that has been long forgotten in a cigarette case feels like a short, subjective association, until it slowly transcends into a still life, the longer you take look at it.
Tim Bruening remembers Frank Pabst, asking us what memories are really made of.

Martin Eder has made a name for himself as a painter of brightly colored cat and lolita motifs. When he trades his brush and canvas for a camera to produce standalone photographs, his vocabulary becomes a lot darker.
For TISSUE N°2 Hans Bussert met a humble man who only temporarily let his mischievous side — we suspect him to be quite cunning — shine through.
A warm welcome once again to Martin Eder. All hail our Dark Lord of Ass!
