Kristina Podobed is the only one photographer who will tell you the truth: her project has been born out of boredom. Podobed’s ongoing series depicts her long-time bestie Anya, an eccentric self-mocking Ukrainian blonde with gap teeth who loves flooding Instagram with oceans of tears and lines of mad love for her boyfriend Maxim.
The documentary process started when the girls were hanging out together, not knowing how to entertain themselves. Now they know. You’ll get to know it too – with a little help from me, the silent observer of the girls’ communication. To smell that rosy scent of female friendship and idleness, and to share some words of wisdom from Anya, follow ORACLE WITH ANYA on TISSUE from now on!

I met Devin, 20, on Instagram. She is a tattoo artist, studying in Vermont, originally from NYC, Stuyvesant Town. I immediately fell in love with her Irish beauty. She is my modern-day tough Juliet. How can you not grow up tough being from a project town? I identify with her as well, being from a tough country, Ukraine. Aritists always create their reflection in a way I guess.

Right after the end of the lovely DOM exhibition, Berlin’s project space aesthetik01 already takes the viewer on the next journey into a mystical parallel world. For Kristall ohne Liebe (English: Crystal Without Love) Stuttgart-based artist Alexander Binder links digital and analogue photography by using modern SLR cameras with old and self-built lenses.

TISSUE Magazine Mixtape 43 by Wosto
A new year means a new mixtape. And this year starts just excellent with a strong all-around electronic mix by Wosto, one half of mysterious duo Fallbeil along his friend Kluentah. They released on labels like New York Haunted, Contort Yourself, Terminal Operations, Hafenschlamm Records and Return to Disorder over the last three years.
