Last Thursday night saw the opening of Sonya Kydeeva’s and Philippe Gerlach’s DOM exhibition curated by Kristina Nagel‘s aesthetik01 in Berlin-Moabit. The show presents the collaborative work of Kydeeva and Gerlach which documents and transcends the image of DOM (which means home) and of sanctuary through the movements of adolescent environments in Moscow and Berlin – through photography, but also with the flag as an art object. It features images that Gerlach captured with his phone at a crematorium rave in Berlin. They were sent to Kydeeva who took them to her friends in Moscow who in turn made flags from Gerlach’s images.
DOM can be seen at aesthetik01, Lübecker Straße 49 in Berlin-Moabit and runs until December 22nd. So if you haven’t already, head along to see the great show for yourselves!
