The cultivation of cannabis started way back in human history. In China, hemp use archaeologically dates back to the Neolithic Age (Stone Age). It’s called ganja in Sanskrit, an Indo-Aryan language of the ancient Indian subcontinent with a 3,500-year history. qunubu is how the ancient Assyrians called it – they knew about its psychoactive effect for religious ceremonies.
