TISSUE Magazine Mixtape 10 by BOBBIE*
Some of you might have noticed that TISSUE Magazine loves a hot (and sweaty) rave from time to time. Mostly we like to throw our hands in the air to Hamburg based BOBBIE*. Anyhow—females are the better DJs and BOBBIE* got it all: the sound, the look and the skills. BOBBIE* is a supporter and member of Team TISSUE since high school and there won’t be any TISSUE Ultra event without her. She’s so fucking nonchalant while spinning those records—that is why we like to call her the face of TISSUE sometimes.

She is a regular host of the event series KNOCK KNOCK in Hamburg as well as a longterm associate with the infamous THIER crew. Currently she is working on her own fashion label Lies In Layers with a friend. We are dying to see it soon.

This mixtape is a journey through the depths of underground machine funk guided by dark soundscapes, dusty chords, chirping 303 modulations, diverse drum programming from our favorite cities and that kind of sweetness which makes that special musical approach of BOBBIE*, our love.

Approved: This mix works for your clubbing warm-up as well as for your afterhour.

TISSUE Magazine Mixtape 9 by SUPERDEFEKT
The most excellent comes at the end (of the week). Superdefekt is a resident of Hamburg’s Golden Pudel Club and one half of the MFOC (Musik Fetischisten Ohren Charakter) collective who are responsible for the most diverse and exquisite club event on Sundays around town. Mind their artwork by C.I.Alex Solman!

This mixtape is like a two hour rollercoaster ride through the history of house music.

A.activities, Love And Security, excerpt of TISSUE N°3

Viennese art collective A.ACTIVITIES reclaim the subway in a seriously good-looking act of civil disobedience. Talking about seriousness, it was quite hard to get a hold of them — their security precautions were no joke. As promised in TISSUE N°3 here’s the video to their illegal performance.

And here’s what they wrote in TISSUE N°3:
“The subway is a powerful symbol. In graffiti culture, the subway has a mythological status as a hard to reach target, and a reminder of graffiti’s origins on the New York public transit lines. For everyone else, the subway is something that belongs to the city’s inhabitants, something that we see and touch every day as we take the train. Still, the subway is out of reach. It is hidden away in tunnels under the city and protected by security, cameras and police. All contact with the subway follows an exact and constructed pattern and any movement out of that pattern is prohibited. As a media for painting, the subway is taboo.”

“In that moment, in that situation we were present as naked humans, vulnerable and exposed, among giant steel cars, surveillance systems and electric tracks, equipped with nothing but paint. On the spot, confronted with the untouchable subway, with our fears and the closed doors behind us, we left our traces along with a message that is simple and clear: We were here.“

“The public transport authority treats the immaculacy of the trains as their highest priority. No subway will go into traffic with paint on it. By filming the act and publishing the video, we made sure that our traces will never disappear. It is our hope that anyone who has seen the images will keep them in their mind as they go on the subway. Our paintings may have never travelled the city, but they will travel through the internet and can be seen here in print forever.“

THOMAS BAYRLE, FEUER IM WEIZEN
For last year’s documenta 13, THOMAS BAYRLE installed the remnants of an industrial age in the exhibition’s main hall — very hard, very cold, still pretty sexual. For TISSUE N°3, we chose one of his older, more frivolous works, Feuer im Weizen. Same goes for our home office. Melanie just had to buy one of his cheeky graphics from the Antiquariat around the corner after walking past it for months. Be sure to visit his solo show All-In-One at the Wiels in Brussels these days.

We are proud to present a delicate slice of music from multi-talented musician, producer, DJ, visual artist and Uncanny Valley aficionado Credit 00. Inspired by cannibal movies, number theory and birds his own music is not easy to pigeonhole. After all, this mixtape showcases Synth Wave, Electro, Afro, Disco, Italo and other Proto stuff.

Credit 00 recently appears with a stunning EP on Dresden label Uncanny Valley as well as on Leipzig science fiction & bass collective Blackred. Dear friends,

we are very happy to announce that the freshly printed copies of TISSUE N°3 arrived at our headquarter in Hamburg on Tuesday. Halleluja, the magazine looks — and feels — so good. 132 pages of pure inspriation — tits and ass and things related, coming together
in a colourful eruption.

We immediately started the distribution to our partners and retailers. The magazine will be available in Germany and several online shops from February 19th. For Japan, Europe and North America allow us some more days — the magazines are on their way.

The presentation of TISSUE N°3 will now be held on FEB 26th in Berlin at our big sister 032c’s place. Please save the date, we hope to meet you all up there and celebrate that filthy thing with us.
